We set out to climb Giant and Rocky Peak Ridge, via the Ridge Trial (also known as the Zander Scott Trail) just 0.2 miles from Chapel Pond, adding one more peak towards my 46, Rocky Peak Ridge. At some points of our hike the rain was coming down in sheets, other times the cloud ceiling would lift and we would get great views. The detour to RPR was not very long of a hike, but there was a lot of vertical involved: 800+ feet down to the col, followed by 600+ feet up to the summit.
