Biographic data

I was born on May 16, 1954 in Darmanesti - Suceava, Romania.

 

Career

 

  • In 1979, I graduated the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi, Romania, Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications.

  • Between 1979 and 1988 I worked as a design engineer in the  Tehnoton Enterprise Iasi, Romania, were I experienced practical skills in maritime radio-communications.

  • From 1988 to present I have been with the Technical University “Gh. Asachi” of Iasi, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the following didactical levels: 1988- 1990, research engineer;  1990- 1991, teaching assistant; 1991-2000, lecturer; 2000-2002, associate professor; 2002-present, professor.

  • In 1999 I received the Ph.D. degree in Metrology from the Technical University “Gh.Asachi” of Iasi.

 

Professional skills

  • design and use of digital systems based on integrated microprocessors and microcontrollers;  

  • digital measurement  of electrical and non-electrical quantities;

  • design and use of digital systems based on programmable logic arrays (PAL, PLA, GAL, FPGA, CPLD);

  • design and use of hybrid digital systems based on microprocessor/microcontroller and programmable logic arrays (hardware/software codesign);

  • design and use of Analog-to-Digital Converters with nonlinear characteristic.
