Biographic data

Born in 1955, the 14th of November in IASI, ROMANIA. Married with Cecilia, civil engineer, two sons, Andrei and Vlad, 19 respective 4 years old.

 

Career

  • In 1974, I have graduated the “Mihai Eminescu” High-school in Iasi, being declared “Chief of promotion”.

  • In 1980, I graduated the Faculty of Electrical Engineering,  Technical University of Iasi, the average mark being 9,84.

  • I have received governmental repartition for “Nicolina Factory”, where I worked till 1984 as design engineer in the automation laboratory.

  • Since 1984 till 1990, research engineer with the Institute of Technical Physics, mainly involved in measuring (soft) magnetic materials.

  • Starting from October 1990, with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electrical Measurements Department. From 1990 till 1992 assistant professor, from 1992 till 1999 lecturer, from 1999 till 2002 associate professor. Starting from October 2002, confirmed as professor. 

  • Since March 2000, elected as Head of Electrical Measurements and Materials Department.

  • In 1997, the Technical University of Iasi, Romania, conferred the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Measurements  

Professional. Domains of competence

  • Measurements in Electromagnetic Compatibility;

  • Electrostatic discharge towards sensitive devices;

  • Soft magnetic materials: measurements and phenomenological models.

Membership

  • member  of the Romanian Society of Metrology

  • member of the „New York Academy of Science”

Publications

  • 78 scientific papers in Journals and proceedings of international conferences or symposia (for 43 first or unique author).

  • 7 books (first author for two of them, other two being published in U.K., Warwick University Press).

  • 2 patents.
